Jennifer Williams to receive Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award

On November 21, 2019, Jennifer Williams will receive the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award, during National Native American Heritage Month.

Jennifer is a very active member of the Native community in Denver. She assists the Stronghold Society with their annual Run for the Stronghold event at Denver East High School. This is a community event to promote physical fitness and health education within the Denver American Indian community.

Additionally, as the Community Outreach/Engagement Specialist for the CAIANH she connects community partners to benefit the Native community.  Partners include, Denver Indian Health and Family Services, Denver American Indian Commission, Rocky Mt. Indian Chamber of Commerce, Denver Public Schools, etc.

Other awards and recognition Jennifer has received include being the current Board Chair—Denver Metro Fair Housing Center; the Former Chair—Denver American Indian Commission; Former Chair—Mayor’s Advisory Board Human Rights and Community Partnerships; and Native Americans in Philanthropy—Leadership Program.
