DEN Reclaims Spot as the Fifth Busiest U.S. Airport While Receiving Passenger Accolades

After serving nearly 61.4 million passengers in 2017, DEN has reclaimed the spot for the fifth busiest airport in the United States. DEN dropped to the sixth spot last year, but regained the fifth spot this year after another record-setting year. In fact, in 2017, DEN experienced a 5.3 percent increase in total passenger traffic and a 12.5 percent increase in international passenger traffic over 2016. To celebrate number five, DEN passengers, employees and some special guests pass along “high fives” in this video that shows how excited we are about taking five.

In addition to ranking the fifth busiest airport in the nation, DEN recently received several honors from the Skytrax World Airport Awards:

  • Best Regional Airport: North America
  • Top-ranked airport in the U.S.
  • No. 5 World’s Best Regional Airport
  • No. 2 Best Airport Staff in North America

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are voted on by customers in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey and are a global benchmark of airport excellence.

Thanks to all of our passengers who voted for DEN!
