Grant opportunity opens July 15, 2018
The Water First! grant opportunity, made possible by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) and their "Seeds of Native Health" campaign, expands NB3 Foundation's support of Native American communities working to improve the health of children in Minnesota and Washington.
Applications are accepted from tribes and Native-led organizations that specifically focus on the reduction of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and increase the consumption of healthy beverage alternatives (such as water, breastfeeding, indigenous teas, etc.) for Native children. Applicants may apply for a one-year $15,000 grant to support either a community health assessment or implementation (based off previous work done on this issue).
Deadline for submissions is August 15, 2018 by 5:00 pm MST
The NB3 Foundation will host a webinar for prospective applicants on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm MST to answer questions about the opportunity and discuss the application and selection process. Participation is strongly encouraged and is limited to 100 participants.
